Our golf rules and policies are put in place to enhance your experience here at Shackamaxon Country Club. Please respect the rules and policies listed below so we may maintain the high standards set forth by our club and the members it serves. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and please let us know if we can do anything to better serve you.

2012 Golf Rules & Policies

Golf Department Arrival Procedures:
Upon arrival to the Club please use the bag drop (if applicable).
Notify Bag Attendant or Starter if you are expecting any guests.
Alert the Starter to any special requests or updates on your group (Use of a caddy, need for a handicap flag, etc.).
Proceed to the Golf Shop and check in using your Membership Card.
Bring the receipt to the Starter and coordinate arriving to the 1st tee for your starting time.
Upon completion of your round, please see the bag attendant for club cleaning.

Dress Code:
To enhance your experience please follow our dress code policy. Proper attire must be worn at all times while utilizing the practice facilities and golf course. Members are responsible for their children & guests at all times.

Proper Golf Attire: Men
Shoes for Golf with Soft Spikes, or Sneakers
Slacks, Pants, Bermuda Length Shorts
Collared Golf Shirts (Including Mocks); Shirts must be tucked in at all times
Caps may be worn, but the bill must be facing forward

Proper Golf Attire: Women
Women’s collared Golf Shirts (Including Mocks); Women’s shirts designed to not be tucked in are acceptable
Full Length Pants, Capri, Shorts, and Skirts

Improper Golf Attire:
Denim, Gym, Cargo, and Jean Shorts; T-Shirts, Tank Tops, Sweatshirts, and Swimwear; Jeans, Sweatpants and Cargo Pants; Shorts that go below your knee; Sandals or Dress Shoes

Golf Course Rules
Replace your divots or use seed/sand mix in fairways.
Fix all ball marks on greens.
Rake bunkers after your shot and place Rake IN the bunker once finished.
90 Degree Rule when using Carts.
Wooden posts on each side of the fairway, in front of each green, indicate where all carts should exit to the cart path. Carts must remain on the cart path on all par 3’s.

Starting Times and Member Regulations:
Each Member is allowed to make one starting time per day.
All special requests must be approved by the Head Golf Professional.
Starting times are recommended, but not required for weekdays.
Please alert the Golf Shop if you wish to use a caddy.
On Friday the Starter has the right to fill a group that is less than 4 players.
For weekend and holiday starting times, fill out a tee time card or email the Golf Shop the weekend prior.
Tee times will be posted on the website, in the locker room, and with the starter, by Wednesday of each week. Please see our membership privileges chart for more detailed information on starting times and membership regulations.

Guests Policy:
Guests: Members may bring 3 Guests anytime Tuesday-Friday and Sunday, as well as after 11:00 AM on Saturdays/Holidays. Special requests will be at the discretion of the Head Golf Professional. An individual may be the guest of a Member no more than 2 times in a month, and a total of eight (8) times per calendar year.
Be sure to look for guest specials throughout the year!

Unaccompanied Guests: Full Golf Members may send 4 guests anytime Tuesday-Thursday and after 1:00 PM on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. All fees incurred by the Unaccompanied Guests will be charged to the Member’s Account.

Social Members: Social Members must check in with the Golf Shop. A Social Member may not be a guest of another Shackamaxon member in addition to their 8 rounds per calendar year.

Nine Hole Rounds:
All players will be registered for an 18-hole cart fee and guest fee. If you only play nine holes please return to the Golf Shop for a credit to your account. After the shop is closed you may hand your ticket to the Starter on duty and your account will be credited the next day. If you are on the course for more than 2 ¼ hours it is assumed you have played more than nine holes.

Walking and carrying your own bag will be permitted in the afternoons.
March – September After 3:00 PM
October – November After 2:00 PM
December – February Anytime
Legacy Members may use a caddy at any time with no additional cart fee

Member Tournament Sign-up:
Member tournament sign-ups are available in the Golf Shop.
Sign-up for the Ladies Member-Guest is six weeks prior to the event.
Sign-up for the Men’s 27 hole Member-Guest is six weeks prior to the event.
Sign-up for the One Day Member-Guests are six weeks prior to the event; these are open to men and ladies.
The deadline for Member Tournaments is the Wednesday before the event at 12:00 PM. (Anyone withdrawing after the deadline will be charged the appropriate entry fees and cart fees.)

Tipping Policy
Tipping is acceptable for the Outside Operations staff (Bag/Cart Attendants and Caddy Master/Starter) and the Locker Room Attendants. A gratuity has been added onto your bill for Food and Beverage.
